New Blog Sites

Posted by scotty on June 24th, 2003 in New Blog

We have two new blog sites this week. Two girls from Pelita are about to start jamming on the keyboards to broadcast their thoughts to the world of Internet. We have Sofia Lim who signed up last week, and was trying to shape the site to contain bible issues from Friday nights Bible studies and Sunday mornings church meetings, other issues, books reviews, daily life, etc, after the exams. Chenny Thie is now also writing on her new blog at FOCUSer.net, also working at preparing for her new job at St. George Bank.

With 10 bloggers on FOCUSer.net (9 of them from Pelita), things certainly get more and more interesting…

New Members in FOCUSer Blog Family

As of June 2003, there are two new members joining in the FOCUSer.net blog domain. We should welcome them!

Victor from Pelita, and
Tim from MBF

This blog has been very very quiet for the last 6 months since “Out of the Box” signed up last December. However, it does not mean that people don’t post any more – in fact everyone was busy blogging. Well, except Stephen maybe. :)

MovableType 2.64 was released on 28th of May, and this morning I updated the site with the latest and the greatest. Hopefully you will spot the changes and enhancements! Meanwhile, I am also evaluating b2 from cafelog.com, which is a PHP+MySQL based blogging tool that has single site + multi-author support. It has a simpler user interface compared with MovableType, ad it is PHP based so it is easier to integrate with your existing PHP sites. However, I still reckon a well-configured MovableType is better if you just want to jump in and blog. If anyone wants to sign up FOCUSer.net, I think I will be able to host b2 based blog site as well, if it is requested.

Meanwhile, I got some idea of building an aggregator for the focus bloggers, so that it can track updates even if they don’t host their blogs here. I’ll publish more thoughts later.
